Wardrobe Revolution: Mark II!

After posting about my Wardrobe Revolution the other day, I got thinking.

Some of you might wish you took more time to dress up more...

Some of you might wish to dress more casually...

Some might want to work more accessories into outfits...

Or you might want to experiment with a new style...

Or even challenge yourself to wear only skirts/trousers/neon bloomers!

So already, I've decided that #wardroberevolution needs an upgrade.

Therefore, I introduce #wardroberevolution Mark II!

I really want YOU to join in.

I know there are plenty of you who take outfit shots, who maybe want to try out new looks, style up an old once-loved item in different ways, gain confidence through what you wear, or like me, simply want to wear more of the items that you don't usually wear.

So, please come and join me.

Instagram your outfit shots daily, weekly, whenever you want, using the tag
#wardroberevolution

Check out what other people are doing, ask questions when you post if you're not sure about what you're wearing/want more ideas (I did that today and got a really good suggestion!) and find inspiration amongst fellow wardrobe revolutionaries!

...it's currently pretty lonely on that tag, so what are you waiting for? ;)

What I Wore... #6

Back at its usual Wednesday spot...I tried a bit harder this week! Unfortunately I still haven't figured out a good place for taking pictures. Boooo.

First up, my favourite outfit of the week.

Tuesday 15th November
Jacket: Second hand
Shirt: H&M
Jumper: Happit
Leggings: Matalan
Boots: New Look

Today I woke up wanting to go for an androgynous/tomboy look! The velvety blazer came from a second hand clothes shop in Brighton (calling it 'retro' might have been pushing it a bit) back when I was at college. I stupidly cut off the buttons from the cuffs and now wish I hadn't, since they got pilfered from the button box for a sock puppet (which probably got binned...gah)
Still, I love the jacket and love that we've got suitable weather for wearing it!

Here come the rest...

What I Wore...#5

Several days late with this post! NaNoWriMo has been far too much of a distraction...plus Wednesday night is when Kirstie's Handmade Britain is on (anyone else watch that?) so for an hour every Wednesday night I am glue to the television! Actually this Wednesday I was writing and watching Kirstie, so whilst my novel characters were faced with peril I was giggling at Kirstie's flower arranging mishap. Awesome show :)

But rambling aside, here are some outfits.
I was really lazy with dressing this week. Again starting with my favourite outfit.

Wednesday 9th November
Vest top (worn underneath): Jack Wills (hand-me-down from sister #1)
Jumper: Happit
Jeggings: George at Asda

The jumper from Happit was originally from Dorothy Perkins, I think (Happit sold their own goods but also sold ex stock from other shops). It's lovely and soft, and the perfect length for my taste! I bought one in grey, too, and looking back wish I'd bought more since they were only £4 each!

Moving on, here's the rest of the week:

What I Wore... #4

Eek, okay, so I nearly forgot about this today!

Aside from a couple of lazy days, I think I did well this week. I broke out some old clothes that I'd previously customised or made, and also wore some of the jewellery I've posted tutes for in the past!

As a change from the past couple of weeks, I'm going to put my favourite outfit of the week first.

Of course, me being me, that would be what I wore on Halloween...

Monday 31st October
Jacket: Can't remember
Shirt: New Look
Jabot: Handmade
Corset: Corsets Boulevard on ebay (cheap but excellent quality)
Skirt: Ebay
Boots: Pleaser
Earrings: H&M, customised
Rings: Octopus/MK One/random shop in Looe

No closeup of the rings because I forgot. I love this skirt, because it's so unusual--obviously handmade. It's a little big on me so I don't wear it often. What's super about this skirt is that the eyes glow in the dark!

The rest of the week I'll put in chronological order. Here comes another outfit I quite like, though the picture isn't that good ):

What I Wore... #3

I managed to photograph my outfits for another week! This week I'm not as pleased with my efforts and whilst some outfits are okay, others are just plain cringeworthy!

I wore some of the same things this week as last week; not the exact same outfits but some of the same pieces. This doesn't matter so much with staples like jeans but when it comes to shirts and tops, it's more of an issue because I have tonnes of them! I still need to sort out a decent place to stand for these pictures...

Anyway, on with the clothes.

Thursday 20th October
Shirt: Happit
Scarf: New Look
Jeans: Marks & Spencer

Trying out a new hairstyle here :) I had my hair cut weeks ago and intended to experiment with lots of styles...so far I've not done very much experimentation!

Friday 21st October
Shirt: Betty Jackson (bought at TK Maxx)
Jeans: Marks & Spencer
Blazer: H&M (bought from charity shop)
Boots: New Look
Brooches: Bought from car boot sale
Necklaces: Bought on holiday/present
Earrings: A present

I forgot to take pictures of my jewellery all week! Gah!
This Friday I went to London to meet up with a friend. We had lots of fun and did so much walking that my feet were killing me by the end of that day--that'll teach me to wear heeled boots for the first time in ages!
We checked out the Wellcome Collection near Euston Station, and an Alice Through the Looking Glass illustration exhibition at The Illustration Cupboard, a cute little gallery hidden away around the corner from The Ritz!

What I Wore... #2

Last week, I decided that I don't wear enough of my clothes and that I would start posting pictures of my outfits here as a way of motivating myself.

So here's my first full post, featuring a week's worth of outfits. I found this a little hard sometimes, especially if I woke up feeling tired and found myself staring blankly at the contents of my wardrobe!

Looking back over the past week of outfits, I think some look great, others not so much. But that's what experimenting and playing around is about :)

Thursday 13th October
Longsleeved T-shirt: Matalan
Gold top: Bought from charity shop
Belt: New Look
Jeans: Marks & Spencer
Boots: Next
Short necklace: handmade (tutorial)
Long necklace: a gift from my grandparents
Ring: Bought from charity

Here's a closeup of the long necklace:

My grandparents gave this to me when I was a teenager. My grandad told me it's a 'slave necklace'. I'm guessing they picked it up on their travels somewhere. I love that it has so many little charms on it!

More outfits after the jump!

What I Wore...

Yesterday I finally gave in and admitted that the ‘Indian Summer’ is well and truly over and gave my wardrobe a thorough sort-out! Away went the T-shirts and brightly-coloured summer dresses, out came the shirts and long-sleeves.

As I sorted, I realised that I don’t wear nearly enough of my clothes. I have so many awesome things that barely see the light of day! I have become ‘clothes lazy’, opting for the jeans-and-t-shirt combo all the time.
So I’m going to make more effort with dressing and post some of the results here!

To start, here’s today’s ensemble:

Hat: H&M
Jacket: Atelier Boz
Collar: handmade--see my tutorial here
Tunic: Vero Moda (bought from charity shop)
Belt: Saben by Roanne Jacobson (bought from charity shop)
Strappy top (worn underneath): H&M
Leggings: Ebay
Socks: Don’t remember
Brogues: Primark

The jacket is my absolute pride and joy. It cost a lot more than I would usually pay for any item of clothing but after years of lusting after it I finally had the opportunity to buy one and knew I would regret it if I didn’t!

Here is a better picture of the hat:

I bought this in H&M today! I’d gone into H&M in search of a belt, but the hat caught my eye instead. The feathers make it that little bit more playful. I may add something else to it, since I love to add my own touch to things.

Here's hoping I can pull a whole heap of looks out of my wardrobe and make use of all the pretty things in there. Wish me luck!
