This Pinning Inspiration focuses on the art form, assemblage.
Assemblage is the composition of two and three-dimensional works using found objects. I see it as fairly free from rules and a great artistic process for any age group.
The above work is by Lynne Parks. Her website, musingrelics, is full of intriguing, gorgeous pieces and lots of inspiration!
As well as creating intriguing artworks, the process of assemblage can also be used to make sweet displays of antique and 'memory' pieces...
...but also items along a similar theme. This seaside-themed box is a lovely way of using up all those bits of seaglass, shell and stone collected from the beach!
This is another lovely piece, by Mark Bennion. (Again, see his website for more beautiful examples of assemblage.)
Assemblage doesn't have to be limited to putting things in boxes!
Here is a sweet 'assemblage doll' by mixed media artist Jeanette Janson.
The piece in the above picture is by Twisted Copper Forest at Etsy (lots more in the sellers shop!)
Looking for even more inspiration? A quick search on Etsy yields tonnes of ideas, and beautiful pieces ready to buy!
Is assemblage your kind of art?
Do you think you'd like to try it out?
Please share your thoughts and inspiration in the comments!
I've seen these types of pieces before but didn't realize they had a name. Some of them are too,.....messy? maybe for me, but I like a lot of them.
